Magnetic separation racks

Intended Purpose

All our magnetic tube holders are intended for fast separation of magnetic particles in various sample matrices and sample volumes.

Characteristics

We designed our magnetic racks with the needs of scientists and technicians in mind, who rely on rapid and complete separation of magnetic as well as paramagnetic particles in biotechnological and diagnostic applications. All racks are 3D printed using chemically robust ABS material and are equipped with Neodym magnets, also known as supermagnets.

We offer several formats of magnetic racks to provide a solution for (almost) every need. The variants range from a magnetic rack for the classical 1.5mL tubes up to a rack for 50mL tubes (see pictures). Each magnetic rack is optimized in terms of tube holder geometry and positioning of the magnets.

We also offer a “Point of Care” option for all racks, where small magnets are embedded in the base plate of the rack. This enables a safe stand on metal workbenches or any other magnetic surfaces. This variant is very popular among users of our mobile suitcase laboratory,

Advantages

All racks are equipped with Neodym magnets that have an exceptionally high magnet field strength, superior to standard magnets not made of rare earths. Only Neodym magnets ensure a fast and complete magnetic separation process even when working with very viscous samples. Our magnetic rack for 50mL tubes features a special arrangement of magnets known as Halbach array, which is further increasing the magnetic field of the 50mL rack to an extent that allows separation of para-magnetic beads from 50 millilitres in as little as 3 minutes.

Fun fact: through the "Point of care" option (magnets embedded in the base plate), you can stick the magnetic rack to any magnetic surface, such as metal frames of lab furniture. That helps you to organize lab space as the rack is not in the way on the bench if not needed.
