SwiftXtractor™ SL is a compact, automated nucleic acid extraction platform engineered to process large sample input volumes and elute DNA and RNA into low final volumes, all within a single extraction run.

The system enables extraction from 200 µL up to 40 mL of input material, with elution volumes as low as 50 µL, supporting workflows that require increased effective target concentration without additional downstream concentration steps.

The SwiftXtractor™ SL processes sample input volumes ranging from 200 µL up to 40 mL and concentrates purified DNA/RNA into eluates as low as 50 µL, all within a single automated run.

This high input-to-output ratio eliminates the need for manual pre-concentration steps (centrifugation, filtration) and delivers higher effective target concentrations for downstream molecular analysis.

The SwiftXtractor™ SL uses standard laboratory plastics that you already stock. Switch between 50 mL and 5 mL tube configurations using a simple metal adapter, no hardware changes required.

The same instrument serves high-volume wastewater surveillance and lower-volume clinical extraction workflows.

Custom-designed rod sleeves feature integrated blades for active mixing, a grooved o-ring seal to retain temperature and control steel-bead transport, and a narrow rounded tip for precise low-volume compatibility.

Each sleeve is individually mounted, allowing single-sample through four-sample batches without wasting consumables.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Is centrifugation required?

No. The SwiftXtractor™ SL workflow is column-free and centrifuge-free. Automated magnetic bead-based capture handles lysis, binding, washing, and elution without any manual centrifugation steps.

What input volumes does the system support?

200 µL to 40 mL in standard operation. The system uses standard 50 mL, 5 mL, and 2 mL tubes — no proprietary cartridges or consumables required.

Can the instrument be used in the field without mains power?

Yes. The SwiftXtractor™ SL is can be battery-operated, enabling deployment in mobile laboratories, field stations, and resource-limited settings without a wall outlet. At ~15 kg, it is easily transportable.

What downstream workflows are compatible?

Eluates are compatible with targeted qPCR, multiplex PCR panels, ddPCR, shotgun metagenomic sequencing, and long-read sequencing (including Oxford Nanopore). No additional cleanup is typically required.

Can the system be used for applications beyond wastewater?

Yes. The SwiftXtractor™ SL platform supports the full range of SwiftX™ reagent kits, including kits for blood genomic DNA, cell-free DNA, sepsis diagnostics, and STD screening from urine. The large-volume capability makes it well-suited to any application where target concentration is low relative to sample volume.
