VALIDATED ON BACTERIAL AND FUNGAL PATHOGENS
SwiftX™ Sepsis (RUO) performance validation was carried out using clinically relevant Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and fungal pathogens, including E. coli, K. pneumoniae, S. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, E. faecalis, and C. albicans.
Paired extraction and qPCR results demonstrated consistent detection across all tested species, confirming robust yield and reproducibility from µL to 10 mL whole-blood inputs.
With optimized qPCR assays, SwiftX™ Sepsis unlocks ultra high sensitivity by enabling extraction from 10mL and detection of below 10 cfu/mL of whole blood.

Is the protocol instrument-free?
It is centrifuge-free and column-free. A heating block and magnetic rack are required.
Does heat lysis compromise nucleic acids?
The controlled incubations are optimized to lyse cells while preserving nucleic acids; buffer chemistry suppresses nuclease activity.
Which anticoagulants are compatible?
Validated with Na₃ Citrate; K₂ EDTA can be used. Not compatible with Li Hep.
What is the function of Beads A in SwiftX™ Sepsis?
Beads A are paramagnetic particles that capture microbial cells and white blood cells directly from whole blood, enriching pathogens while reducing host background. After lysis, they also remove cellular debris and impurities, yielding clean, inhibitor-free DNA extracts. Beads A perform both cell capture and cleanup steps.
How low can it detect?
Assay-dependent, but sensitivity demonstrated below 10 CFU/mL with standard single-copy targets.
How does Reverse Purification work?
The process, which we named “Reverse Purification”, is a true paradigm change in nucleic acid extraction. Instead of binding nucleic acids to magnetic particles, impurities such as proteins, cell debris and others are bound to our magnetic particles Beads A and extracted DNA and RNA remains untouched in the lysate. The inversion of the conventional nucleic acid purification workflow minimizes and has significant advantages as there is no loss of DNA and RNA during the extraction and purification process, which prevents reduced yields of nucleic acids.
