17.09.2026, Hallbergmoos, Germany. Xpedite Diagnostics GmbH today announces the launch of ClassiX™ DNA/RNA, a universal silica-bead extraction kit designed to replace multiple matrix- and pathogen-specific kits with a single chemistry, protocol and validation pathway.
Each additional extraction method in a laboratory adds training, documentation and validation effort, while difficult matrices continue to compromise downstream analysis. ClassiX™ DNA/RNA is validated across 14 sample types, including whole blood, serum and plasma, stool, urine, semen, wastewater and respiratory, urogenital and rectal swabs in transport media (UTM, VTM, saline, PBS), and across Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, RNA and DNA viruses, fungi and blood-borne parasites. All are processed with the same reagents, the same protocol, and the same 30-minute workflow, without matrix-specific adjustments.
The chemistry was developed specifically for the most difficult matrices. In matched comparisons against commercial reference kits, ClassiX™ DNA/RNA delivered earlier detection from whole blood and stool, two of the most inhibitor-rich sample types in molecular diagnostics, with no inhibition observed across a 32-sample fecal panel (further validation data can be found in the application note, which is available on the company website). For routine operation, this translates into fewer invalid results, fewer repeat extractions and greater confidence on low-copy targets. DNA and RNA are co-extracted from a single input, and the detergent-free eluate is directly compatible with qPCR, dPCR, ddPCR and NGS.
The identical chemistry runs manually or fully automated on the SwiftXtractor™ SL, with validated protocols also available for Hamilton Starlet/Nimbus, KingFisher, GeneXplorer, Auto-Pure and Singuway platforms. Manual and automated ClassiX™ workflows produced closely aligned results across matrices, so laboratories can scale from single samples to high throughput without re-validation. Reagents are stored at room temperature, with no cold chain required.
